Vetting and Barring
The NUT is concerned that the new Vetting and Barring Scheme, which will be administered by the Independent Safeguarding Authority from later this year will leave teachers out of pocket and without a real opportunity to respond to allegations or a right of appeal.
The new coalition Government has issued a statement saying that they are now intending to review the Scheme and take a more ‘common sense’ approach. It’s a great time to get involved with encouraging the Government to make the necessary changes in order to make the Scheme fairer.
Please sign our petition and help us persuade the new Government that they need to change the ISA.
